How long can my HP vs17x LCD screen backlight last?
Hi there isn’t anything wrong with the LCD screen now(knock on wood) but I’m just curious and wondering how long can it last? Here is the hours information I found on the OSD(the menu):
Total Hours: 8941
Backlight Hours:4910
Is the part where it says Backlight Hours is how many hours I have left? Also does anyone have the same LCD Screen and they had a backlight burnout and if so how long did it take to burnout. Also where did you buy another one. Thanks for the help in advanced.
On LCD TV’s the backlight life is about 60,000 hours, which means that after 60,000 hours the light will go down to one have of the original. I think it is the same for monitors. The data you have seems to be the hours you have used it.

Kodak Easyshare C160.?
Ok, so i put in these batteries. They are 2 AA Energizer’s.
But they die so quickly. Is there a way to re-charge them or is there a brand of batteries fitted for the Kodak EasyShare C160 that last long and work?
Help please. i dont want to end up spending more on batteries then the camera!
I have a Kodak Easyshare C160. Even the Kodak brand batteries died quickly. The safety manual said to not put recharged batteries into the camera. I actually like using Lithium batteries because they last longer in cameras. Try AA Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries. Overtime, even though you are paying more for the lithium, it will save you more money by not having to replace cheaper ones more often.

I’m just getting into photography (bought a canon xsi dslr) and ive got 2 questions. ?
I’m just getting into photography (bought a canon xsi dslr) and ive got 2 questions. First, why do I want a power battery grip? Second, what other accessories do you suggest? I’ve already got a few things in mind like a couple of lenses other than the kit on (wide angle, kit, etc) and maybe a flash/tripod. Thanks. Ps, ive got dozens of books and a couple of mentors already. thats not to say that i dont welcome book suggestions, i’ll take whatever i can get. happy holidays.
I plan on doing an assortment of shot types. from action/sports to nature and wildlife.
The power battery grip serves a few purposes. The first purpose is that it can hold more batteries so you lower the risk of your batteries dying on an important shoot. A second purpose is that it makes the camera bugger and bulkier, which some people like. A third purpose is that it gives you a grip and shutter release button that make holding the camera vertical easier. Sooo you don’t NEED a battery grip, but if you want any of those features it can be nice.
As for other accessories, that’s only something you can decide. Hold off on accessories for now and just do some shooting. After shooting for awhile you may find some shortcomings in your setup (”I wish I had a telephoto so I could shoot that bird”). When that happens is the time to buy accessories that address your specific problems.
