Small (cdrom / floppy based) Linux Firewall support usb webcam?

Currently I’m using freesco linux as my firewall in my home.
But they don’t support USB.

I would like to find something like freesco (or CDROM based) linux which support usb so I can install a webcam into that pc and I can access through web outside.

if freesco does not support usb you may want to look into a different distro like Ubuntu. You can try the live cd of ubuntu to see if it recognizes the webcam.

I am assuming you are going to put this on a machine inside your network and then use your firewall to port forward to the machine with the cam that you want to be online so you can see what is going on online.

How do you transfer pictures from the Fisher Price Kid Tough digital camera to your computer?

My operating system is compatible but nothing ever comes up on my computer showing that the download is complete. HELP!

If you’re using Windows, then look for the camera drive in the “My Computer” folder. If using Mac OS, look in “Finder”. This camera does not require any drivers, so I’m assuming it’s Plug and Play. If it shows up in any of the above mentioned places, all you do is drag and drop the files to a folder located on your hard drive.

It takes 45 minutes to render a 5 min video in Sony Vegas 7 – What do I need to upgrade?

hey I made a video which goes for 5 minutes and has 2 songs included. No special effects just basic cutting and editing and titles. when i render it takes FOREVER, it took 45+ minutes to render that as .wmv (modified for good quality) and ended up 41.2mb. is this normal or slow?

Heres my specs
pentium 4 processor
1.5gb DDR ram
128mb ATI radion grapics card
heaps of hdd space over 150+ gb
windows xp sp2 btw

What needs upgrading to speed up the saving time and how would it help? Thanks heaps

Depend on spped of your CPU, this could be normal, to speed things up, upgrade or change your CPU.

what is the BEST DSLR/SLR camera brand and model should i get?

You’ll get all the people of the Canon and Nikon persuasion coming out of the woodwork with questions like this.

Personally I’m of the Pentax persuasion, much more camera for your money Anti Shake built into the camera so every lens is Anti Shake, more lenses available than most other manufacturers, good build quality. All the functions, some you never thought of available to you. Designed by photographers for photographers.

Actually camera make does not matter one jot, lens quality does.

Don’t forget you’re buying into a system the camera is just the ‘down payment’, you’ll spend a lot more on lenses and flashguns etc. in the coming years, with Pentax you can use any lens, with some limitations from the older ones. For instance if its a manually focusing lens it still will be on your DSLR, if the lens was designed to be used with ’stop down metering’ 40 years ago it still will be, but the lens quality will be superb and you can get them for a song.

Get the DSLR that sits right in your hand, where all the controls are where you expect them to be, in other words ‘just feels right’ to you. Look at build quality, is the viewfinder large and bright?

Be aware that some of the lower end Nikons don’t have all the functions, the D40 can’t do automatic bracketed shots (required for HDR and other situations) for instance.

Need to find a manual for my digital camcorder..easy 10 points?

So I recently bought a Sony Digital Handycam, it says Digital 8 DCR-TRV310 NTSC.

I got a deal on it only because it didn’t have the manual or software. Where can I go online to find a manual for it? Any ideas?

Go to the Sony Website, they probably have it in PDF form for free download.
