Photography tips for Florida?

I’m going to florida in a couple days, I have a Nikon D90 with a 18-200 lens and a polarizing filter and a 16 gb card and a Canon SD750 with 8 gb. Specifically, I’m going with my school’s marching band and will be visiting all the parks in Orlando. Any specific places to shoot, techniques to use and other equipment to bring would be great!
Like outside pictures of people and landscapes; beaches, theme parks, etc.

make good use of the sunlight in Florida. It’s said that Florida has a different lighting than anywhere in the world, a lot of photographers and movie producers come to Florida for the unique lighting from the sun.

There are several tourist spots like the Kennedy space center or universal studios in orlando. Taking pictures of the beach and downtown may be great too.

It takes 45 minutes to render a 5 min video in Sony Vegas 7 – What do I need to upgrade?

hey I made a video which goes for 5 minutes and has 2 songs included. No special effects just basic cutting and editing and titles. when i render it takes FOREVER, it took 45+ minutes to render that as .wmv (modified for good quality) and ended up 41.2mb. is this normal or slow?

pentium 4 processor
1.5gb DDR ram

heaps of hdd space over 150+ gb
windows xp sp2 btw

What needs upgrading to speed up the saving time and how would it help? Thanks heaps

Depend on spped of your CPU, this could be normal, to speed things up, upgrade or change your CPU.

which is camera is better? a slr digital camera or a non digital slr camera?

I am extremly new to the word of photography and want to by a camera. I don’t have the space for a non digital camera to develop the pictures but digital slr cameras cost way more.
I just want to know which would be better for me to learn and if their is an easier way to get one(i tried ebay). I’m a working student and money is not growing on my trees.

While having an SLR/DSLR always seems like the best way to go in a lot of peoples minds, it may not be for you.

Are you planning on doing more than snaps shots? If not, then get a nice point and shoot camera.

If you have doubts on any kind of photography career or future, then get a point and shoot.

A professional photographer gerts great results because of their knowledge and experience, not from the camera they use. Just having an SLR or DSLR will not make your images any better than mine, Ansel Adams, or the kid down the street.

Space is not a consideration even for film as you can have them developed at a pro lab, if need be.
